Where We Are
There is a large group of people mislabeled as many negative things due to there only being a few labels to use and those are negative in nature by design. This is true even tho the things that caused the behaviors that led to the labels are symptoms of a period of time when these people were being victimized.
These people I speak of were victims that went forth from infants, toddlers and young children to have the severity of their wounds go unacknowledged, minimized, unsupported and ultimately misunderstood.
The forgotten wounded.
I’m not talking about a group of people in some far away land that we can’t pronounce the name of.. I’m talking about our friends, family and loved ones. I’m talking about me and us..
I refer to the 1 out of 10 people that are like myself who face overly difficult circumstances, that learned the wrong things first before we were able to process or understand the things being taught much less consent to learning these lessons which I know anyone would have skipped if given the choice but none the less no other choice was available in the cases I refer too.
The purpose of GraceUSA, which is a not for profit corporation, is to educate and advocate for the individuals that are being effected by the symptoms of surviving abuse with a particular focus on survivors of early childhood abuse.
The challenge is great due to the formation of profitable businesses and occupations that deal with survivors of early childhood abuse either in whole or in part. These businesses and industries are doubling down on their belief that nothing is going to change in this area of our culture. That even tho in our country we think of ourselves as first class citizens there are still groups of people being oppressed by unnecessarily difficult circumstances while another group profits greatly from them facing those circumstances. The statistic that makes the most sense to me and is supported in every way by the things that I know with my mind and heart and what I have experienced, witnessed and learned about is that roughly on any given day every single jail, prison, and treatment facility in America are on average 85% filled with adult survivors of early childhood abuse.
Ten percent of the population occupies 85% percent of any given correctional facility or treatment program on any given day.
We’re not talking about individuals this is about families.
These families who’s cultures and strengths are not of the type that allows them to compete for jobs and relationships successfully against those families who faced less difficult circumstances but yet they literally have no choice but to compete without support from others like themselves as well as those not like themselves.
